I have to admit that I am not really much of a pinterest girl, I am much more into YouTube (inserts shameless plug to follow us on pinterest @hertwentiesblog here). But I happened to be on pinterest and saw the most beautiful DIY that seemed right up my alley and pretty easy to make. This 3D flower letter is the perfect DIY to brighten up your home, room or dorm for spring and summer. The best part is that it can be completely catered to your taste and color scheme. The whole project was very affordable and only took about an hour. Fake flowers can be a little pricey so I found mine at the dollar store and the Sometimes its nice to just let your creative juices flow for an afternoon. Pair this with a matcha latte (my new fave) or some Starbucks for the perfect girls date.
Heres What You’ll Need
Wooden letter – I picked white because I thought it would go nicely with my flowers, and it got extra points because I didn’t have to paint it 😉
Glue Gun & Glue SticksStrong Scissors
Your Favorite Fake Flowers– I picked light pink, white and green because the colors blend well with the color scheme in my apartment and might also match my sorority’s colors. Go wild with this!
1: Get it HOT
Before you begin, plug in that glue gun to get it hot. I used a magazine, but use something to put under the glue gun because it tends to ooze a little.
2: Cut the flowers
3: Begin arranging the flowers
It might be a good idea to arrange the flowers before you glue everything on. I did this to make sure the proportions would be right.
If the flowers seem too large you can certainly cut off petals from the bottom or remove the green plastic ends.
4. Start gluing
5. Fill the spaces
I personally didn’t want too many white spaces in my flower letter so I decided to take unused petals and leaves to fill the sparse areas.
Enjoy your beautiful letter. Hang it on your wall, stick it on a shelf or even gift one to your bestie! I’d love to see your finished flower letters, tag us on IG @hertwenties and twitter @hertwentiesblog
