Anyone that knows me knows I’ve been wanting a Foreo Luna Mini for a long, long time. For those of you who don’t know the Foreo Luna Mini is a skin-cleansing device. It lives in the same family as the Clarisonic, the really popular facial brush.
What makes the Foreo Luna Mini different is that it vibrates using T-Sonic pulsations and is made with ultra hygienic silicone. This handy device also only requires one charge a year. You don’t have to fumble with chords and charge it at all. Because it’s made with silicone it is extremely hygienic and wont hold on to bacteria like the Clarisonic brush heads. You also don’t have to replace anything.
The Foreo Luna Mini promises* to:
- Removes dead skin cells
- Unclogs pores of dirt oil and makeup residue
- Enhances absorption of skin care products
- Delivers brighter, more radiant skin
*according to Sephora.com
This is the front of the device, you can see smaller silicone touch points and the on/off button
This is the back of the product. It has larger silicone points for areas of skin prone to be oilier like the T zone. The back is where you plug it in to charge, which is a convenient USB charger.
I have been using this for a few months now so I feel like I can give an honest review. My skin disclaimer: lately I have had no problems with my skin, thanks to a new and improved skin care routine (blog post coming soon ;)). I have normal/sensitive skin that can be a little dry during the winter and a tad oily during the warmer seasons. I kind of had the feeling that something was missing to make my skin perfect. I wasn’t really happy with the size of my pores and sometimes felt the texture of my skin was off.
I’ll admit the first week of using this I wasn’t totally impressed. It wasn’t until a few days of not using it that I noticed the change. My skin went from luminous to dull and flakey. Soon after restarting its use I started getting so many compliments on the condition of my skin. My skin looked fresh and plump, I definitely don’t have to wear makeup if I don’t want to.
It gives you this nice facial massage, which is so relaxing at the end of the day. I only use my Foreo at night as a part of my nighttime routine on the lowest setting. This particular model has two settings, one is of slower speed and the next is a much higher speed. If your skin isn’t as sensitive you might be able to go to a higher speed. It also has a timer on it so it will buzz a few times to make sure you clean each quadrant of your face for 15 seconds. It buzzes three times to signal that you’ve been using it for one minute as a warning not to over cleanse.
I am so in love with this product that I bough the full size as a Christmas gift for my mother. She recently told me she’s been seeing her fine lines disappearing. Her skin looks a lot more plump and youthful. She also uses it to apply serums, which allow them to penetrate deeper into the skin.
The bottom line- this tool is definitely not necessary. I would first splurge on skincare products that will love and nourish your skin. BUT if you already have your dream skincare team this might be the missing icing to your cake. Now this is only my experience, there are countless reviews on Sephora of people saying this has reduced their acne and completely changed their skin.
The best part is that Foreo has just come out with a Foreo Luna Mini 2, which gives more speed options, a larger face and more bristles. The differences in my opinion aren’t too drastic. This also means that you can get your hands on a Fore Luna Mini for a reduced price of $99. This price will probably only last until they run out so if you’ve got the funds, get your hand on one!
