1. Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation
The best foundation I’ve encountered to date has to be the Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation. This bad boy retails for 40 dollars at Sephora, but I promise you it’s worth it. The foundation gives a skin-like, semi dewy finish that I absolutely love. The coverage is medium to full and definitely buildable. I love applying this foundation with my real techniques miracle complexion sponge. I feel like applying it with a sponge gives the most realistic finish. Of course, if you were to apply this foundation with a flat top brush you’d get a bit more coverage. It really just comes down to your preference in terms of application methods. If you’d like to see how it looks in pictures, check out this makeup look I did!
2. Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation
Next up is my second favorite foundation: the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation. Before I found and fell in love with the Cover FX foundation, MUF was my ride or die!! Any time I had to attend an event or when I wanted to feel extra glam for the day I would use this. I still love it and it’s still one of my go to’s. It has a very skin like appearance as well, but it’s medium coverage. You can build it up a bit but not as much as the Cover FX one. This foundation has no SPF so make sure to apply some before (or get a face moisturizer with SPF in it). Because it has no SPF this foundation looks absolutely amazing in photos (even up to 4K)! I love applying this one with my real techniques sponge as well as my Sigma Duo Fiber brush. Curious to see what this foundation looks like on me? Check out this makeup look I did using it!
3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation
Lastly, I love love love the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation. This foundation is a really great drugstore alternative. It has a stunning flawless finish that’s not too matte, but it’s definitely not dewy either. The foundation wears well throughout the day and offers medium coverage. I love applying this with a beauty sponge, again I would recommend the Real Techniques one if you’re on a budget or the oh so famous Beauty Blender. Unfortunately, I don’t have any looks on my site using this one, but I plan to do a full drugstore tutorial soon where you can see this one in action!
