HerTwenties.com| A blog because your twenties matter

Being healthy has become a buzzword of its own lately. A lot of us are looking for easier ways to treat our bodies a little better. I think one of the simplest ways to “clean up” your eating is by making simple swaps for healthier alternatives of things you eat every day. One easy swap I love is Ezekiel bread! Say hello to your new best friend.

Unlike white bread, Ezekiel bread is made from only sprouted grains and beans, making it a much healthier option for refined carb lovers out there like me. Something that makes white bread so terrible is the refined carbohydrates, which can cause a spike in your blood sugar levels and then causes you to crash. They are also a huge target that many diets warn you within an inch of your life to stay away from. I know I could never be a diet girl because my love for bread is out of this world. You know that feeling when the server at a restaurant gives you warm bread that’s crunchy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside and the butter just melts and absorbs in the bread. My mouth is watering as I type this. Okay, back to the info.

Because of it’s awesome all natural ingredients Ezekias bread even gives you a whopping 4 grams of protein per piece of toast, that’s 8 grams of protein added to your sandwich. This allows it to keep you fuller longer and fights off those snack cravings that creep up on you. It comes in a variety of flavors and the best part is that you keep it in your freezer so you don’t have to worry about it going moldy. This is honestly one of the easiest swaps to make and while Ezekiel bread has it’s own unique nutty flavor, you’ll grow to love it. I use this in sandwiches, avotoast, and with some almond butter and bananas. You can find this bread in the freezer section of almost any grocery store. If you live in the South Eastern US I’ve found it at Whole Foods, Publix and Kroger.

Every 20’s girl needs this in her freezer. Whether you want to lose a little weight or simply live a more natural, healthy lifestyle, make the swap and you won’t regret it. Enjoy all of the guiltless bread yumminess your twenties’ heart desires!
