Can you believe May is already over? We are basically half way through 2015 and I feel like it just started. May was a great month for me! I was able to go home to South Florida for a few weeks and got to spend tons of quality time with my friends and family. That time is just what the doctor ordered after completing my first year of grad school. Sometimes you just need quality time with the people you love to recharge your batteries. But without too much blabbering let’s get into what I have been loving this month. I am SO excited about these favorites!
1. White Converse $55
I have been loving these white converse “slip-ons” this summer. My mom and I actually got matching pairs. My mom loves copying me. They literally go with everything. You can pair them with high-waisted shorts, boyfriend jeans, dresses. I am definitely not a fashion guru like Di but I’m sure she would agree 🙂 These shoes are slip on and completely comfortable. You don’t tie the laces, which is perfect for sneaker hating girls like me. I loathe retying laces.
2. Sally Hensen Miracle Gel Topcoat $7.99 (at Target)
Since I am out of class for the summer I have a lot more free time on my hands. I used to love doing my nails during college before my schedule got to hectic. There is something really therapeutic and budget friendly about it. One thing I can’t stand about doing my nails, or getting them done is the chipping. For a while I used to get gel manicures done, which I absolutely loved, cause I’m not a fan of fake nails and they never chipped. However, gel manicures completely destroyed my nails. This top coat is MIRACLE WORKER! My nails last ridiculously long with no signs of chipping. I have tried it with the Sally Hensen Miracle Gel nail polish and with an Essie nail polish and it has performed well with both. It does take a little while to dry so be weary of that but OMG it is so awesome!
3. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream for Extra Dry Skin $17.99 (at Target)
The summer heat can be unforgiving in South Florida and Atlanta so I had to find a new moisturizer that wasn’t as heavy as the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. This moisturizer is so bomb! It has the appearance of a gel and is instantly absorbed into the skin. It leaves your face completely moisturized and so baby soft. I am going to do a full review on this baby so I won’t get into details but stay tuned!
4. e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator $3
I also like wearing a lot more lipstick during the summer because I am going out more often and doing more fun things. This little guy is perfect for when you’re getting ready and you know you are going to use a matte lip cream or lipstick. It has wonderfully moisturizing ingredients with sugar. It comes in this neat lipstick form unlike other lip scrubs so you don’t have to put anything on your fingers. It tastes delicious and leaves my lips perfectly hydrated. I normally put this on while I am doing my hair to give all the good stuff time to soak in. Love this stuff! And you really can’t beat the price.
I was in the market for a new BB cream because I was getting a little bored with the one I had. I love this product, it is really hydrating and doesn’t cling to any dry patches. It looks completely natural and makes your skin glow. There is a brush sold separately that they supposedly made for this product but ditch it, you really don’t need it. If you have oily skin you might want to get a sample before buying the full tube. If you have dry skin like me you will love this stuff. It has SPF in it and it is perfect for everyday use!
Those were all the products I have been loving this month. If you try any of them let me know! I love to know what your favorite products are too 🙂
