After living in South Florida for the past 22 years and packing up and moving to Georgia, let’s just say my skin had a mini panic attack. To give you a bit of background, in Florida my skin is pretty sensitive, and combination-oily in the T Zone. I have never had acne prone skin. Any acne that may arise is usually due to that time of the month and even then it might be one or two pimples. I don’t know what caused the skin panic attack but I am sure it was likely the change in weather. My skin is not used to seasons, the only two seasons that exist in South Florida are hot and rainy. About a month after moving here, I noticed my skin was inflamed, red, burning, and I developed small little red bumps all over my forehead, chin and cheeks. I figured the Lush products I was using weren’t cutting it for my new environment. I headed over to Sephora and met my new dream team!

They are all First Aid Beauty products, which I had never used before. They are specially formulated for sensitive skin so they are safe for virtually everyone to use. For my routine, I do a very simple and relatively quick 4 steps. I try to make it as simple as possible so I know it’s something I can follow everyday.

Step 1: FAB Face Cleanser ($9.50 2oz)

I start by rising my face with warm water (tip: warm water opens up your pores for a deeper clean!). I use a pea sized amount of this very gentle cleanser and that is enough for my entire face. I massage it in gently for about a minute and then rinse off with cold water- to close the pores. The cleanser doesn’t foam to much but leaves more of a creamy lather. This cleanser doesn’t leave my face feeling tight, dry or irritated.

*I would suggest that if you wear heavy makeup, you first remove makeup with a makeup removing wipe to get the best clean!

Step 2: FAB Skin Rescue Blemish Control Pads ($30 for 60 pads)

Once my face is dry, I wipe my T-zone, cheeks and chin with these extremely convenient blemish control pads which promise to treat and prevent acne, decrease the size of your pores and control oil.The pads are completely saturated in the product and have a smooth and bumpy side. These little pads have done a pretty decent job in controlling and decreasing the little bumps on my face. I am happy to report that I am almost bump free! There isn’t a large amount of stinging involved-but never fear, I promise they work for me.

Note: this is normally something I wouldn’t include in my skincare routine because I don’t have acne prone skin. If you don’t as well, you might consider the FAB Facial Radiance Pads which you can use in place of your toner.

Step 3: FAB Anti-Redness Serum ($36 1.7oz)

After toning, I apply a very small amount of this serum on my cheeks and forehead. This has to be my favorite step in my skincare routine. I have always suffered with red and sensitive skin! The new climate change only exacerbated the problem. This is a dream product, and has significantly reduced the redness and sensitivity I was experiencing. Now it doesn’t completely take away all of the redness but it does a fabulous job!

Step 4: FAB Ultra Repair Cream ($12 2oz)

Finally, we have reached the sweet end. My last step is applying a (slightly larger than) pea sized amount of this super rich cream to my face and neck. I will say I was surprised at how thick this cream is. It is important to note that this can be used for your face and body. FAB does make a separate Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer which is a little more lightweight. I chose the ultra rich cream because we are headed into the winter months and my skin is not used to such dry weather, so I wanted to give it some added moisture and protection. It takes a little while to absorb in your skin, which I know bothers some people but I don’t mind as long as the end result is what I want. It doesn’t leave me feeling oily at all, and prior to moving I was oily in the t-zone area. You are left with plump, hydrated beautiful skin and ready to take on the day.

I know some of the products seem a little pricey but I believe the best investment you can make in your face is what you use to cleanse and moisturize it every day! You need to give your makeup a beautiful foundation. There are some things that I can’t skimp on and skincare is one of them. And since its the holidays Sephora has an amazing holiday deal especially if you just want to try it. You can get the FAB Faves To Go Kit which includes the Face Cleanser, Facial Radiance Pads and Ultra Repair Cream in smaller sizes for only $28! Who doesn’t love a good deal right?

P.S. Let me know what your favorite skincare products are!
