HerTwenties.com| A blog because your twenties matter

Greetings HerTwenties Gang! I hope you guys are having a fabulous summer so far. If you have been following this blog since the very beginning you will know I kind of have a thing for skincare products. I am always trying new skincare items in search for the magical potion that will have my face smooth and blemish free. I was really intrigued by Neutrogena’s new moisturizer, one because I saw it all over YouTube and also because it has hyaluronic acid in it.

Hyaluronic acid, for those who don’t know, is something that our bodies already naturally produce. It is a little miracle substance that instantly adds tons of moisture to the skin and locking it in super tight leaving your skin baby smooth. Many skincare products have hyaluronic acid present in the ingredients but I haven’t seen it in a drugstore brand yet.

I found mine for $17.99 at Target, which is definitely pricey for a drugstore moisturizer. There are two options for this moisturizer, the gel-cream for extra dry skin and the water gel for normal skin types. I decided to get the gel cream because I quickly looked up reviews as I was standing in the aisle and saw a few reviews saying the gel cream was better. Also, since I’ve moved to Atlanta my skin has been particularly dry.

The consistency is definitely gel like it feels very light on the skin.

When you first put it on it has a cooling effect. The product has no smell and goes on very smoothly. It is absorbed into the skin very quickly. You don’t need a lot of product, which is a plus.

After it is absorbed it leaves your skin baby smooth. I bolded that so you guys would know that this was no joke. The after effect feels just like a higher end moisturizer that you would get from Sephora. The soft feeling lasts all day long and doesn’t leave your skin oily at all. It makes your skin plump and hydrated. It even left my overly sensitive skin very even in tone.

My final thoughts- I think this moisturizer is perfect for the summer time. Especially if you have dry skin but you live in an area that is really hot. It isn’t as heavy as a cream so it won’t leave your t zone looking like an oil slick. I am obsessed with the way my skin feels afterwards- seriously it gives a baby’s bottoms some competition. The only cons I have are the price, is essspensive for drugstore, and also hyaluronic acid is the 4th to last ingredient which means its concentration in the product may not be a lot. Cons aside, if you don’t mind paying a little more for moisturizers run to target and grab a jar. The jar has a lot of product in it so you definitely won’t run out until Fall, and by then we’ll all be dusting off the heavy creams anyways.

Let me know what products you guys have been loving, or if there are any you’d like me to review 🙂

XOXO,

Danielle
